CREATING YOUR SPACE

Setting your practice space can make a big impact on your experience. Choose a spot that allows you the physical ability to spread out on the floor. The most important thing is to be comfortable and create a space where you can be completely present with yourself for the duration of class. Use a mat if you have one, and if you don't, no worries! You can simply use a towel, or just sit on the floor or carpet.

You may also want a few props around, like a large bolster or pillow for possible support in a pose, a yoga block or a thick book(s), and/or a blanket. If available, dim the lights or shut the curtains, creating a quiet space for your practice. Let out the pets and silence your phone and other technology. Essential oils or incense can also add to your practice, so consider burning or diffusing your favorite scents during class.
